MSU Extension offers free septic system workshop during SepticSmart Week
In observance of the national SepticSmart Week 2018, Macomb County MSU Extension (MSUE), in partnership with the Macomb County Health Department and Washington Township, will hold a free basics of septic systems program in Washington Township. The seminar will be held on Wednesday, September 19 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Washington Township office (57900 Van Dyke, Washington Township, 48094). It will provide a brief overview on how a septic system functions, septic system maintenance, how to detect septic system failure and water conservation. Open question and answer and a discussion will follow. The presentation will be repeated at 4:15 pm. Handouts, including the Home-A-Syst (Home Assessment System) book, will be available.
The program is free but registration is recommended to ensure adequate handouts for participants. To register, send an email with your name, address, phone and email address to email@example.com or call 586-469-6053.
A faulty septic system can threaten a family's health as well as harm pets and wildlife, contaminate groundwater and lower property values. Protecting and maintaining a household water system is as simple as following a few guidelines.
Michigan State University Extension (MSUE) brings a variety of educational programs to residents, empowering them to improve their lives and community.
